He's dense, that's for sure, but he must also be asexual, like you said. He cares for nothing but becoming a mithril class adventurer. His eyes are blinded by this one and only motivation. Interestingly enough the author could have made him normal; he would have just turned the girls down, telling them he has got time for nothing but trying to reach the mithril rank.

The manga has taken significant liberties with the characters compared to the LN. Lorraine is way, way hornier for Rentt than she ever was in the manga, as are the other girls.
