that ending was totaly uneeded, MC didn't deserve that, he felt pity towards her as the villagers were using her for odd jobs and giving her water and bugs

the villagers are the ones that killed MC, because they knew that was going to happen, is like giving a gremlin to someone without the instructions

had they told MC the truth he would have never gave her meat, or at least would have questioned her on the cats

I hate how the villagers now will be perceived as the ones on the right
but I think that the part about "burning yourself out for someone else (work) was good"

This definitely feels like an unplanned twist (well, until the bacon part), considering the villagers actively kept her active. We even had the earlier chap where one goes "oh, if you don't give her water she'll go into suspended animation" and pours water on her, like, isn't that what you'd want? Just let her shrivel + go inactive and seal her in a water-tight box or something.
