Yup, it abruptly ends on a cliffhanger. Not clear on the circumstances, but after this chapter was published Inamitsu abruptly changed publishers from Shogakukan to Akita Shoten and began serialization of Seishokuki.

It's somehow understandable why not even the author cared about this one, this is a perfect 00s meh manga. I don't know how to explain it, but around that time there were a lot of mangas like this, just not wacky or too refrained to be really funny.

This is very disappointing. The plot was getting somewhere with the alien girl who looks like Fuyu — like, maybe Aki was summoned to retrieve the child of that alien species because she ended up in the Edo period by mistake.
Anyways, it’s been a decade or more, so there’s no reason to cry about it. I think it had some potential, even with all the 00s lame ass creepy jokes, it was a fun read with an interesting plot.
Wish the author had retconned it removing certain storylines or whatever, since the concept seems really good. It has a back to the future vibe, with the message telling the girls to meet her at a specific date.
