Seems rather convenient as a setup for romance, but hey this is fiction. Besides, Apex Legends actually has a not insignificant female playerbase in Japan. There are even female singers, actresses, voice actresses, idols and cosplayers who play this game, let alone streamers and vtubers. I've seen a 50-something mother of a streamer regularly play it.

Anyway I think I've lost track of how many times I've seen Apex referenced in manga (it's in Kaguya-sama, even). It's crazy just how popular that game is in Japan. (or used to, until EA dropped the ball so hard that CR Cup for Apex stopped happening...)

Eh, seeing how she hides her identity with a voice changer, it looks like she wants actual playmates not thirsty simps. If she wanted that kind of attention she'd flaunt it as a streamer or something.
The more surprising part is how she's so cute, feminine and fashionable despite not having female friends, being against having any in the first place, and denying having interest in girly things. She'd more likely lean into gamer otaku look if hanging out with the guys (platonically?) was her thing.
