I’m really curious about what the end game is here. To me, the options are:
-the master turns out to not be a war criminal and they work together to take down some larger evil force
-the master is evil and manages to corrupt the slave into being evil
-they continue the current relationship with no change

The first two seem very unlikely, and the last one sounds miserable to read
