Some people treat Viz simulpubbing a title as the series being accessible for the whole world, because apparently the world only consists of white people countries. It's epidemic at this point.
Like, I can understand if the main motivation to stopping is "we don't want to risk getting sued". But going off about moralities in scanlation because the manga is becoming accessible to predominantly western countries comes off as a performative value-masturbation.

Personally, as the scanlator, my motivations aren’t that. It’s nothing to do with value-masturbation, fear of being sued or whatever it is. The manga will still be easily available to you for free if you know where to find it. It’s more to do with “Now we can put our energy into working on some of the many series with 0 English translation”.

What’s the point of working on a series that already has an official English simulpub, where the author even gets proper kickback from? Morality aside, it’s not a good energy or passion ROI. We’re not running off unlimited energy, time and passion.

There’s so many other series I want to work on and bring to the public attention but I just don’t have the bandwidth, so I have to choose carefully.

Either way, it’s most likely going to end up with an English translation that’s permanently a year behind. In that case, we’re going to continue scanning regardless.

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay once again. Not to make excuses but my health's been a lil suspect as of late, so I've been in and out of the hospital. Big thanks to the team for helping out lots. Chapter 41 is in the works.

In the meantime, Tsumiki has been licensed in English by Viz, with the first volumes/chapters releasing in summer 2025! We hope we've done at least a small part in bringing attention to a wonderful series.

We're planning to continue scanlating Tsumiki at least until the releases come out. We'll revisit the idea again once the official releases start rolling out and we see the details. We'll probably only drop the series if it becomes an official simulpub. But until then, hope y'all will put up with us.

You can get the simulpubs in anime dedicated torrent sites with ease if you don't have access to the service, don't be so dramatic. You will still have access, just not as convenient.

Thanks for all you’ve done to help get word of the series out! Hopefully people look at this and go “hey I should support the official release” instead of getting upset that an official release deprives them of free manga

Also I just realized that this chapter is just Spider-Man with extra steps

my issue is less not free and more so focus on the quality and care that is put into the official release. official releases are a mixed bag when it comes to quality and i wouldn't want to pay for a lower quality however i wouldn't mind paying for a an equal or greater quality. if its official give me a good quality not a cold translation.
a great example of this was the official version of "Maou ni Natta node, Dungeon Tsukutte Jingai Musume to Honobono suru" the official version was a complete downgrade in quality of translation.
its a dungeon management manga/LN/WN and the OFFICIAL version translated DP as DOLLAR POINTS while the fan tranlator did it justice and translated it as what it obviously means DUNGEON POINTS. this is why i generally dislike it when things are licensed because if you got a good fan translator then its a flip of the coin whether the official version will have even a quarter of the passion put into translating it.

No one thinks your making excuses, ones health always comes first and as someone who also has a chronic illness and is in and out of hospital because of it. All I can say is respect your boundaries, your work life balance and yourself.
But mad respect for telling us at any rate, it can be a hard thing to do.

Also when it comes to official translations I think the fans often do it better, as they do it out of love for the source marital.
However I often support the series I love by buying the manga/ anime if they are even given a physical release.
