I believe the prince is actually a princess, what we have seen so far indicates as such. Like the prologue, the supposed secret(which could be something else, but who knows?) And how the father treats "the prince".
Also, the prince being confused about roles and such, the tags have crossdressing if I am not mistaken and does not have the yaoi tag but the romance tag as well.
There is a tiny slim chance of the prince actually being male at this point in the story after all that we have seen and know, but you never know, this story might prove us otherwise, hopefully not, in my opinion.
Also, from the bottom of my heart, screw the whole non-binary stuff.
I know, rude but true. I don't like that farce at all.
