I hate this. I just feel bad for him.
He has never grown past just kind of crushing on his fiancée. Because he was so afraid of making a bad impression on her, he never really learned to engage with her as a person and thus became this kind of clown.Keios is really holding onto this idea of being engaged without really trying to make any effort to communicate his feelings to Nicole at all. I'm really not convinced he actually cares about her at all, just some fanciful idea of her being a perfect and demure woman for him to marry. If he really loved her he would try and understand why she wants to study abroad and support her, and work on maintaining a relationship regardless - the reality he hasn't come to terms with is that they don't have a relationship to begin with.
This is still the fault of his parents, who saw all this happen and did nothing. Of course he was an idiot, he was a child, if he gets a wrong idea and nobody ever tells him it's wrong he's never going to learn otherwise. He has never grown past just kind of crushing on his fiancée. I hope the ending is open and they break up but maybe get together later on in life like leave her alone and left her flourish
"What can I do for Nicole?"
That's easy... Let her GO!
Exactly ma problem with him. I still can't believe that he actually loves her. It really looks like he still sees her as an accessory he doesn't want to lose. He has to stop sticking to her hoping for her to take an interest in him. He needs to start working and showing an interest in her first. If Keios was smart, he'd drop everything and work on getting one of the scholarship positions WITH Nicole. That way he'd spend more time with her, learn and engage with her interests, and be able see how much work she's done while he's been dorking around with Caroline.
I'm not sure we have even seen his parents? But I agree, it's the fault of all the adults around him...This is still the fault of his parents, who saw all this happen and did nothing. My feeling is that now that he has seen the determination she has to study abroad combined with the complete lack of interest in him he might start developing a bit. It would be a bit too much if he had an epiphany right away, but he does seem like he is at least starting to doubt the way he feels and expresses himself.Exactly ma problem with him. He's too late for the process of scholarship, but if he manages to work his ass off, not only to get good grades but also to earn enough money to be able to move with her to support her dream, that would show a huge character developpement (maybe too much to be believable for him).
I think in current position, it already doesn't matter. She is so convinced of her belief of him, that she will twist anything he says to fit her flawed narrative(which we've seen time and again).Keios is really holding onto this idea of being engaged without really trying to make any effort to communicate his feelings to Nicole at all.
But it isn't, I think. First of all, they have been formally engaged for many years, unlike a lot of series with dense protagonists. The truly damning thing is that he has not expressed real interest in her in the slightest, something other fiancés have been doing successfully. It's not that he is just a silly goose and she has no self-esteem, but quite the opposite: she has enough of it to figure out she can do better than a man who has zero interest in her, even if that means being by herself. It's just a reverse situation of a dense protagonist, and I hate those.
Neither if them are the point of the story. Its all about Nicole being perfect and getting a happy ending.Introducing a new douchebag male character is not going to save Keios. I have enough room in my heart to hate two people.
Yeah and she now don't have feelings for him and thinks he better off without her.He has never grown past just kind of crushing on his fiancée. Because he was so afraid of making a bad impression on her, he never really learned to engage with her as a person and thus became this kind of clown.
