I really like the plot and context but the impression it gives me is that is going to treat all of it in a comedic casual way, is just a misunderstanding jaja so funny.
But...i don't like that is being treated like a joke? this bastard has ignored his fiancee to the point she honestly doesn't expect ANYTHING of him, she is already done, she gave up, yeah she is happy and free now but that doesn't change the constant dissapointments she suffered in his hands, he couldn't care do to the MINIMUM, and we are supposed to let it go just because he is dumb and didn't think it tought?
i feel like if the guy actually cared for his fiancee but his intentions where misunderstood it could work as a joke but he doesn't, we see him be indiferrent to her, he might start caring now but is too little too late.

Don't get me wrong i'm not saying he is unforgivable or anything, but unless he actually feels bad for how he treated her, and starts fucking working his ass off to be better and ask for forgivenesss then i honestly don't care about him
If my partner made me feel like i don't matter to the point he did, they better get on their knees while crying or i'm breaking up with them, she can't break up with him for how their society works so thats why she wants the marriage in name only

I'd say we've gotten some significant hints that he has cared about her the whole time. Like with the flowers. He chose white flowers specifically for her, thinking that she would like them because girls tend to like white flowers. Now, where he messed up was in how he worded the flower delivery (jerk) and the fact that he didn't think to ask what kind of flowers she would actually like.

But ignoring his general incompetence, it shows that his heart is in the right place. He does care about her at least somewhat and want her to be happy and content in their relationship. He just has no idea how he's supposed to do that because he's a dense clod and she never once expressed the feelings of discontent that have been building up all these years.

That's not to excuse his behavior, because he's made some colossal mistakes that he needs to make up for. But out of ignorance, not out of genuine apathy to her situation.

Yeah no. If someone treated their partner this way, they have no right to complaint even if she served up divorce papers. Or in this case, annulled the engagement.

In that sense, he's both lucky and unintentionally scummy that she's basically trapped in the marriage if she doesn't want to marry problematic guys. Just by being patient with him, she missed out on good potential alternatives. I doubt it's going to go that way, but I certainly don't want her to take him back at this point.

Princess Caroline gradually realizing how much her presence fucked her childhood friend over is quite amusing. Not to say any of it is her responsibility, of course. If anything, she's being quite fair. This is all on him.

I don't think we're currently supposed to forgive him. The story so far has been piling on all the ways he's taken her for granted, and is only being proactive now that she's slipping away in a very public way. If he does care, which presumably he does, he's failed to show it and hasn't yet showed that he's actually even repentant for putting the entire burden of the relationship on his fiancée.

I suspect he's only going to be dragged through the mud socially even further before we're expected to even humour forgiving him.

My thing is that usually plots like this are all:

Plot: ML is super inconsiderate of MC and doesn't do any of the stuff he's supposed to do as a fiancee.

Me: Oh he sucks then. I want a new ML.

Plot: But wait! ML was just shyyyyy and didn't knoooooow he was supposed to do those things and MC never spoke up so he didn't realiiiiize she was unhappy!

Me: Sounds like they should be with different people then.

Plot:...

Me: Yeah MC should be with someone who already understands basic etiquette and notices when she's unhappy. ML should be with someone assertive enough tell him when he's being a dipshit.
