From what weve seen of the last chapter and now this i think its save to assume that keios has not done a single bit of maturing since he first met his fiance.
He acts essentially like a stuck up noble brat at all times, but especially when in the presence of his fiance. He treats the princess just as he did back in the day, he orders his fiance around as if she were a maid("we are going on a date" instead of "do you want to go on a date?", cmon dude), he gets insanely jealous whenever nicole interacts with any other man and he just goes with the flow instead of acting on his own. (We barely ever see him do something that he wasnt explicitly told to do by his friends).
Im increasingly curious to meet his parents because they must have some fault in this, right? Did they pamper him his entire life and never let him meet another girl his age? How else does one end up like this?
I am usually a redemption pilled forgivenessmaxer but i just cannot see it ever happening in this manga. Not only because nicole already said that she lost all remaining love she had for keios in a previous chapter, but also because he just does not seem like the type for it. If you read back, keios has not yet even apologized to the person he wants to make up with! He understands on some level that he has done something wrong but i dont think it has sunk in that he has wronged nicole and has caused her great harm. Even setting aside the inferiority complex she seemingly had at a young age(that he didnt know about because he didnt care to learn about the person he says he loves) she was the mockery of the academy for some time!
And in the chapter where he says that he has no special feelings for caroline, when she rebuffs him for only ever talking about her on their date he comes up with an excuse in his head but doesnt say it out loud. Why? Cause its embarassing i guess, which is the excuse he seemingly uses for everything, because he is stuck in the mindset of a child and not being embarassed is more important to him than the feelings of his fiance it seems.
If the shock of nicole declaring her desinterest in him doesnt get him out of this behaviour, i dont know what possibly can. Does she need to meet a man who actually takes interest in her hobbies and care for her and try to engage with her as a person for keios to realize what he shouldve been doing for years?
Normally this would be the point where the relationship is broken of and keios has the chance to learn a valuable lesson. But because it would be terrible for nicole if they broke the engagement, that will never happen and keios has essentially unlimited time to make up for his catastrophic blunders which he will not use successfully since he is incapable of maturing.
