But this isn’t true love or soul mates. This isn’t even really a relationship.I get some people don't believe in soulmates or true love, still i prefer that a relationship gets fixed instead of broken even if there is a clear wrong party, im just hopeful.
I mean you're somewhat right but they did have a positive first meeting and steadily exchanged letters and met for tea for quite a while, up until they entered the academy. But this isn’t true love or soul mates. This isn’t even really a relationship.
The engagement was arranged by their families and he proceeded to spend the years where they actually develop a relationship ignoring her.
The only reason this even looks salvageable is because she has to keep the connection to survive in this country.
Yeah man, I am just tired of this. I just want to read more story about mending a broken relationship. Of course some mistakes should not be forgiven. And too forgiving can be annoying & detrimental.I get some people don't believe in soulmates or true love, still i prefer that a relationship gets fixed instead of broken even if there is a clear wrong party, im just hopeful.
I mean, is this not problematic enough? What exactly is her mistake, bruh? But not all relationships are always sunshine & rainbow. They have some fight, disagreement, conflicts, but if the mistakes is not too problematic (cheating, etc), then I find it more endearing for both party to learn from their mistakes while changing each other.
While the problem is more from me issue rather that story issue. It is the problem of my expectation. The FL have every right to reject the ML. Of course the problem with the ML that you have commented.I mean, is this not problematic enough? What exactly is her mistake, bruh?
She's fallen out of love and is only tolerating the "ahh, coochies" guy because of her limited prospects. The inept idiot still can't properly express his supposed love for her, even after all that has happened. He's been dropping the ball all the time, and can't help but fumble it at every turn.
For him to mess up something as simple as giving his FIANCÉE a gift? A fiancée he's had for years? Even after the verbal beat downs he's been receiving? What is he? Someone with the emotional maturity of a five year old?
Idk, I feel like she has completely fallen out of love for him. She doesn't even hate him, his presence in her life is just a necessity in order to survive.I do kind of hope they work it out. If Nicole had completely fallen out of love that would be one thing but it seems like she just values being more self-sufficient and keeping her independence rather than being dependent in a relationship (which is a pretty healthy mindset). Beyond that, everything else between them seems to be based on miscommunication and having very little experience on how to maintain a relationship.
They dont need to get back together, but I do hope they can clear up the miscommunication and start over from the scratch.
Then again, if this took place in modern times, they wouldve already broken up at this point (though I doubt they'd even be dating in the first place).
Some readers (specially romcom readers) see two people on a page and immediately starts the OTP train without any further thinking. Isn't it the most toxic as shit relationship known to man? Doesn't matter. Aren't they practicely strangers? Doesn't matter. But this isn’t true love or soul mates. This isn’t even really a relationship.

I still have difficulties rooting for him. Not because I hate him, but because I can't believe that he actually likes her. He really looks like he's trying to fix their relationship because of what others say about him (and the princess, sigh...) instead of because he cares about her. I don't think he ever said that he loved her, even when she's not there. It truly looks like she's just an accessory that he doesn't want to lose. While the problem is more from me issue rather that story issue. It is the problem of my expectation. But look at how the story is marketed. With how the story is marketed, I thought the story will be about some idiot ML trying to mend a broken relationship. Look at the cover art. Look at how they do the tone, the vibe, the comedy. You will thought it will work out. That is what I expected with how the story is presented.
I had hundreds of manga/manhwa with problematic love interest. Most of the time I still enjoyed them even if they get together because usually they are presented light heartedly. I thought this will be the same.
Not to mention, I am in the mood on looking for something where the couples fixed their broken relationship instead of you know just broke, then have revenge on ex or move on. (if you have any recommendations, do tell me).
TL;DR
The FL have every right to broke up with the ML, especially how slow & problematic he is. I just want too see story where couples fix their relationships (Of course, both have problems is more preferable, but it doesn't apply to this story). I really just want angst with happy ending
I can see that. Like I said before, I reading this because I thought it will be focused more on about mending a relationship not about a falling relationships. I just mistaken on what this story is all about.I still have difficulties rooting for him. Not because I hate him, but because I can't believe that he actually likes her. He really looks like he's trying to fix their relationship because of what others say about him (and the princess, sigh...) instead of because he cares about her. I can't see this story as a story about fixing a relationship because there is no relationship to fix in the fist place.
He's clearly in the story only for a comedy purpose, at least, until now. He's not an asshole, just an idiot.
All the flags seems to indicate that she's going to move to Iliegale and that she would be happier this way (with him out of her life).
Personally, I don't think that "being teens" is a good explanation for his behaviour in the slightest (not that you said so). Maybe for you and I in this world, perhaps, but for this guy, he's both a noble and a part of a culture where almost all of his peers have fiancées. He should have been taught how to take care of his fiancée, or failing that, all he needed to do was to have a look around and... uh... focus less on the princess to understand how much he failed his fiancée. He's probably already infamous for his treatment of his fiancée and if he wasn't so socially inept, he would have learnt of his reputation. He's not a teen, he's a massive idiot.I don't know why, but this chapter is where it really just hit me that these are just kids. They're teens who haven't experienced life and still trying to figure stuff out. Still didn't like Keios, but I do have a tad more understanding. Not forgiven though.
I get what you're saying. Taking the manga and it's world at face value, he's just an idiot who doesn't understand the social expectations and responsibilities that come with a noble. My view comes from applying my outside view and values into the world that it's set in. Kinda like how in some media where the bad guy is evil and punished him for it, while realizing the movie says nothing about the social and economic factors that may have led to the life of villainy.Personally, I don't think that "being teens" is a good explanation for his behaviour in the slightest (not that you said so). No one denies that he can still learn from it, but there has to be a limit to covering for the mounting fuck-ups that he has brought upon himself. It's not like they've been engaged for a year, but from a rather early age, yet he managed to express so little interest in her that she considers their relationship a mere formality. This is, fundamentally, a hell of his own making and it would be far less severe if he had at any point considered the way the relationship looks from her perspective and wanted to treat her as a partner. He is a coward and a buffoon, and I'm rooting for girlie to live a life of being true to herself. As a person who believes that teens are still kids learning about life and themselves, I found that it is a shame these characters have to go through that. What in our world would just be an unfortunate relationship where the guy was unaware of his dismissiveness and they break up is now of more import. Instead of moving on and finding someone new she's resigned to a loveless marriage and finding other things to care about. And instead of a small fuck up that a kid might have and learn from, this is a potentially life ruining mistake that hurts not only him but the person he likes.
I absolutely feel the same exact way. Looks like we agree 👍🏾No one denies that he can still learn from it, but there has to be a limit to covering for the mounting fuck-ups that he has brought upon himself.
