I totally get this chapter. When the rice is good, it's just good even on its own. I really sometimes eat rice with barely anything too because I like the flavour of the rice itself.

The first half of the chapter is a lot worse than the second half. I expected what at this point I'd consider typical for this manga to have a direct comparison and them saying imported rice was garbage while japanese rice was the food of gods, but really it's more about preserving the local industry and know-how, which is a decent argument. The health argument is stupid though, especially when another manga, Natsuko's Sake, is pretty critical of the japanese rice farming industry.

A bit weird with the cheap American = bad for health. A lot of things can factor towards price especially in rice. Not bad overall though, although the same theme and structure seems to be in every chapter, I wonder if the author is gonna shake things up
