I'll be honest, so far, I haven't had a lot good to say about this volume. This chapter in particular was not fun to translate, not just due to the once again casual misinformation, but also the rather... Let's call it off-putting obsession with the racial purity of cats...

"America pressuring" is kinda real right now in my country though. And the president before becoming one used to say no to foreigner interfering and seems also ended up bowing down. This manga is a bit too nationalist. A bit too much.

Being nationalistic is good but eh insisting on a pure breed japanese cat superiority is a bit icky. Also even without the casual misinformation and fear mongering, who would have thought the best way to make jam is to handpick them straight from small scale secluded organic farms. Bruh. Kinda ironic with Japanese fruit prices being sky high.
