Yo, thanks for the TL. "Oy vey", though? LOL

By the by, I'm anti-alcoholic so I don't really know how beers are supposed to taste. I've tasted non-alcoholic beers, though; they taste like wet corn flakes. Does the alcoholic ones taste different?

I'm afraid I don't drink either, so I've got no experience with the flavors of beer.

And yes, I think Itayama would say 'oy vey'.

Damn, do any of us actually drink... I don't even know if 'dry beers' are a thing in the states. Still I'm interested to see where this goes, I love seeing these insights to the fads with food in the 80s.

Speaking of which, from a Game Center CX episode today, I learned there was an Oishinbo videogame in 1989! Seeing the characters in that context gave me such a start.

From my research at least, the 'pale ale' that was mentioned in the chapter is pretty close. In USA, it would be 'pale lager'.

Both are fairly light in flavor and share several similarities with Japanese dry beer, based on what we'll learn in the next chapter.

Not a drinker either but out of curiosity I search online for what dry beer means and it just said dry beer have low to none residual sugar

I did try a sip of beer once and it just tasted rlly bitter with a hint of sourness?(awful to me) so I can't imagined how much worse it would be for me with even less sugar in it

Anyway an online store description for corona is

"This lighter style, dry beer has pleasant malt and hop notes, with a round dry finish. Regardless of the time of year, Corona is best served ice cold, with a wedge of lime that complements and intensifies the flavour through the palate."

So it's a thing but the "dry" Part Wasn't advertised as heavily ig?
