You know I knew this much about the beer brewing method, but I really like the peek into japanese drinking culture, and what someone with strong opinions and a refined palette thought about it in the 80s. Specifically it seemed to have driven our author up the wall to see people just kind of mindlessly picking their drinks based on what's popular....

Personally, I think this is one of Kariya's more pretentiously judgey chapters.
When Yamaoka has to say he doesn't mind that it exists, it almost feels like Kariya is catching himself being judgey and trying to backpedal a bit. Oh well, the look into the beer brewing process is still fascinating and educational so I can bear with it.

oh absolutely- it drips judginess. But I love what I can learn in the shape of his snobbishness.

Page 17&18 almost felt like a circle jerk ngl with all the characters taking turns shitting on people people who drinks dry beer haha
