Honestly, if somebody tackled me off of my living room table and broke my foot I wouldn't shrug it off just because somebody else served me one of arguably the worst parts of random animals...

As a sidenote I never knew that the kanji for Buddha looked so similar to the kanji for watashi (probably only a similarity that stands out to an ignoramus with a few hundred days on Duolingo but no real knowledge of Japanese...)

It’s fun to see Kurita taking such an active part in the “forcibly changing people’s minds through the power of Food” thing. usually she just guilt-trips Yamaoka. I hope at some point in the series she’ll use the powers she’s learned to do the same thing to Yamaoka and Kaibara….

The kanji things does seem to be a coincidence. The kanji for 'Buddha' is different in Japanese (仏) and Chinese (佛), and the first-person pronoun 'I' also uses different kanji in Japanese (私) and Chinese (我).

It really is nice. I've always rooted for Kurita to show off more of her culinary expertise, and this volume seems to be where she starts doing so in earnest (With the brewmaster and water, then with the rich boy's food test).

They serve fried chicken feet in Indonesia but honestly, I can't give them a try no matter what. I've caved in to try some chicken intestines; it was a great snack. But chicken feet... pass.
Oh, and in central Java they also eat the chicken's head and brain. Wack.

Bit of a strange request but sure, why not.
From what I've found, the dish is called Gyusui (牛炊), literally meaning beef zosui, or beef rice porridge. It appears to be an original creation of the series, hence why there's very little information on it online, but the concept is simple enough that it can be easily recreated at home.

Here's one example recreated by a Youtuber.
