I've gotta say, I'm a little bit surprised. This chapter feels like it could've been a two-parter. It feels a bit rushed to me. Still, not a bad story, but one I wish we got a bit more depth on.

Nope, that was one of several quibbles I had while doing this one. It felt like an interesting, but incomplete story.

Yeah, agree with that other person. Not seeing the wife's reaction to all this feels wrong, and how that guy even won with that stuffed pasta is not very well conveyed.
Like, sure, that pasta was interesting, but hoe is that better than the other guy's cooking? Man, oh well. Maybe the author had writer's block in this episode.

He didn't. The government didn't do anything. The manga went into hiatus because of the complaints from the readers in Fukushima.
