It's a bit of a meme that Minecraft YouTubers have a high likelihood of...enjoying the company of minors. There are already several of them that have been caught grooming, manipulating, having relationships with underage individuals, or some combination of those things. In actuality, most Minecraft YouTubers are pretty chill, either using Minecraft as a tool to do comedy that caters to more mature audiences, or leaning into the more kid-oriented content (because it gets big views). But there are a few big names on both sides of that spectrum that got caught doing bad things, so...yeah. Example (you'll have to watch it all the way through, sorry).

That’s when I started getting the cold sweats that maybe “older brother” is just him casually calling his friend “aniki” or something and he’s not related to this “niece” at all.

It starts off as a lovely slice of life where a single man adopts his 5 or 6 year old relative. It's got lots of themes of fatherhood, found family, and all that jazz. It's got a very wholesome atmosphere (especially the anime)

It's not even that they fuck. It's the heroine seeing her father-figure as a man and basically getting her way. As the father-figure basically capitulated to her wants.

Everyone in-story and irl did not see this coming. And a lot of people are clearly still salty to this day to an obnoxious degree that any age gap story they bitch about it and make reference to it

I personally read the story myself and honestly. There were plenty hints she liked him as a man but it could be see as her just loving her father-figure as a dad. Honestly it didn't bother me and I only disliked the direction it took because the author was too vague in the heroine's feelings on her father. Which led to this shit storm and infamy the story is in now.
