So... what Mom-based superpower upgrade is going to solve this? Hot cocoa?
I actually hope it's Rick and Laura defeating him, with the rest of the party arriving and acting as support.
Rather than Kachua simply solving everything, this is a moment of growth and development for Rick & Laura as characters on their own, and with shared history. They both have leveled up and grown as people, so confronting the past like this and "settling things" feels like the appropriate line of action.

Kachua can come in and be a grounding force for Rick if he starts losing it, but I'd prefer if she not fight his battles for him.

Oh boy, time for the mandated op villains to just have their way for several chapters to show they’re a real threat.
He even teleports...
A staple trope of villains' authors think are too cool to face any consequences.
Any villain with that is usually a bad sign for a story, as they usually cause havoc out of nowhere, then karma houdini away, ruining tension and being one of the most annoying things in existence.
I hope he gets annihilated this arc.

I have to be honest I started reading this for fun mom vibes and the last couple chapters suddenly swerving into dramatic tragedy are really harshing the whole deal.

I mean, a mom chara being overshadowed is kinda art imitating life too but yeah assuming she's not just 'support' or so i imagine she'll be the one to directly defeat the priest maybe. if not restore laura's memories and they all defeat him as a team

Glad to see I'm not the only one unhappy with this development. There's still room for the story to recover, but this is a bad trope to lean on without adding any nuance. In my opinion, anyway.
The story so far doesn't take itself as a "mature" story, where those villains usually cause those problems.
If we are lucky, he remains only for this arc and gets properly defeated.
Why so many downers downing before the story even happens? Sheesh.
I have seen enough examples to be cautious of this type of villain. They are terrible for the stories they appear in. Acting superior+being able to teleport in and out is a recipe for disaster, so let's hope that the housewife doesn't cook that
