I thought that the mom getting close to the sister and supporting her was to get the SISTER on the side of the pair, I didn't see how her coming clean about the affair baby would hurt our poor mc more. Because it's another "you'll never have this" thing to a guy who's feeling rough about it, even though the sister is feeling trapped and scared and is hoping her brother will accept her.
The pair is just... unstoppable here.

I'm surprised to see these comments still. It's very clear what the endgame is; have the dad fuck the daughter to get her pregnant. Why? Well, it's not super clear, but based on the conversations the mom/daughter pair has had, it feels as though this is a plan to re-create something or someone; making 'papa' come back to the pair's lives.
Right now, we're seeing their long plan to isolate him from his family, especially his sister, come to fruition. His sister has been protective of him and was suspicious of them, but now she sees the mom of the pair as an ally and has set off the careful bomb planted by the pair.

I mean, at this point, they know she won't. She's scared, and what the mom did was plant the idea of just raising the child normally because being able to have a child is a wonderful thing. That if she just... brushes aside that it's a product of infidelity, it won't matter that much. That people will react positively, that the two siblings will grow up and be close, that love is what makes a family, not how the family comes together. She says, specifically, that her brother will be happy for her no matter what. That's all she wants, she doesn't want to carry this burden alone anymore. The mother is there to tell her all the things she wanted to hear: that if she just ignores the circumstances and tries hard, everything will work out fine.
It's not gonna, even if it could if she would open up about her circumstances and be honest about what she's going through.

In order to understand this, you must take into account his perspective.
He is childless while in his 40s as the eldest son. His friends all have kids. His sister has kids. His mom talks about grandkids. He wants kids of his own, he wants a family of his own... but his wife cannot have any more children. He's trying to be happy with his stepdaughter as his child, but people keep talking about how he'll never understand some things unless he has kids of his own.
He is also totally unaware that his sister's new baby is the product of her manager taking advantage of her awful home life where her husband won't even wake up to take care of a crying child and instead tells his wife to take that kid outside so he can go back to bed; so to him, it's his sister going "hey, btw? Shit's going great for me over here. I got another fuckin' kid coming." When combined with how his sister has been gloomy and oversensitive and also feels like she's trying to tell him something, that the thing she was trying to tell him was that she's pregante feels like a crushing and cruel personal blow.

This, of course, is all to plan. The mother/daughter pair wants him to feel so desperate and be so isolated that the idea of having sex with his stepdaughter to get her pregnant sounds like a reasonable thing to do, because they need him to do that for... some purpose that isn't quite clear. They want to bring back 'papa,' and whether that's by creating the circumstances of the daughter's birth or by literally rebirthing him. This plan that they have is something that they had at least tried to do several times before.

D**n... when the truth about the child comes to the forefront, the backlash Chika will have will be heartbreaking . Then, Hiroto will have an epiphany about this moment, but most likely, it will be too late(i.e. their plan to have Chika Touko have sex with him would have happened).

I think Miyako and Touko are happy here because Hiroto will feel more obsolete about not having a biological child and might be easier to goad into sleeping with Touko.

nah it's deeper than that. there are way easier and less messy ways to blackmail someone. this is pathological. I wouldn't be surprised if the mother had a relationship with her father/stepfather and the daughter is the result and it didn't end well, and now she wants to recreate it and get their "happy" ending.

I think given all the information we have, it seems pretty obvious they have some crazy plan to reincarnate Miyako's first husband and Toukos dad by having Hiroto impregnate Touko. In chapter 22 Miyako and Touko are having dinner, this takes place shortly after Miyako met Hiroto. They put a third plate for an empty seat and Miyako says "Wait just a bit longer Papa." So they're clearly expecting to bring him back somehow. Given how obviously Miyako and Touko want Hiroto to impregnate Touko this can only mean they think that somehow, the baby she givers birth to will be Toukos original dad/Miyako's first husband.

I guess "Welcome Home Papa" has a dual meaning if this turns out to be true.

like wtf? he's thinking back to when his sister said "you wouldn't understand because you don't have a child" and suddenly he's feeling much more butthurt about that than before because she's on the way to having two kids?
