This plot point has always pissed me off to the extreme. Are you telling me the instant someone isnt a "sage" or "hero" they are just trash. A big example of this is Failure Frame where the mc is summoned as a hero and dozens of countries dont even bother to look at his skills just because he has the class of chef. They openly say that heroes often have god like skills that go against their world... Yet they ignored him without checking shit. Its either really shitty writing or people are just stupid.

I haven't read that so I'm not sure, but in most other Isekai, the character only gets more skills after defeating some monsters. Also, when people summon "heroes", they are expecting the summoned to have a "hero" class. Most skills depend on the class. For eg. A "tank" can't learn wizardry, or a "saint" can't learn demonic magic. So you can foresee some of the skills by the class alone. The way the skills are used is up to the MC.

@saiangeli i think you're talking about im standing on 1000000 lives, in which case the chef class does suck, however he gains more classes as he levels up. So essentially he slowly becomes a master of all trades as the serries progresses

@Saiangeli ; 9/10 times it's a stigma planted in the era of the world and implanted into society that whateverthefuck MC's powers are is useless and/or inferior, therefore why bother checking how the abilities even work? Or even better, in certain other isekais, MC with black hair & eyes is an abhorration and needs to be locked up for eternity behind bars. 👀

@Hornyturtle Yeah whoops you were right! From the way I see it, even if the mc had a class like chef he would still be useful and you could buy him for cheap because no one wants him.
@Mangalover9000 Yeah thats fair. Its just normally when someone has a class normally they excel at it yeah? So if a hero is summoned (Someone that is always known to be summoned with a special skill or gift) suddenly gets summoned with a class like "Chef" why wouldnt they check the skills of it.
@Kitsune_Hellscythe And yeah that makes sense, Its just annoying how accurate it can be if we compare it to something like the salem witch trials. People with blind trust inflicting pain on others because someone from a religion says to so they can be blessed.

But they can't! That's the thing. They can check classes but not skills. And even if they ARE able to, they can't! MC, when summoned, starts at square 0 aka lvl 1. He would not have any skills or abilities. + If his class is something like chef, then there's an even less "growth potential". "Heroes" are chosen by the "gods" and so, they enjoy more benefits from their "god". But "chefs" are just a random job. They are not chosen by these "gods". So they don't get those "benefits". + "Chef"s are not a combat-oriented job. Therefore they are less important than the combat jobs. + They were probably summoned to fight the Demon King. That's why, a "common, non-combat" job, like "chef" is useless.
