im asking because the space kinda doesnt fit the words, but it just might be translator way of hinting to us what she is saying

Wouldn't be surprised if nishi had some sort of wind-related meaning originally. Austronesian languages' words for directions are all over the place, because they prototypically refer to the directions particular winds blow from, and thus they can vary pretty dramatically depending on where that wind blows from in your particular location.
