She's actually pretty smart, if you look at what she's saying she was probing and directing the conversation skillfully in the direction to get as much information on MC and his families plans. The problem came with her doing it in a aggressive, almost combative nature. This is incredibly bad considering that not only does Vaan technically outranks her but also the count I'm assuming she serves being the son of a duke.
Things could have very quickly gone bad for her, the young girl and the count had the MC not defused the situation. Not that I give a damn what happens to the girl's "family" but it's counter-productive to do things to protect someone but act in a manner that puts them in danger.
