I praised squiggles in the past because the quality of his releases has been consistent so I'm shocked to see such a return to bad habits. I know it takes effort but don't just transliterate "icha icha", "yada", "ecchi" etc. First it's incredibly clunky and awkward to read, second for someone not already fairly familiar with Japanese it's completely incomprehensible. Also no honorifics! She might literally say "Papa-san" but to someone who doesn't already understand Japanese that's just confusing once again. Every language has a form of honorifics and it doesn't take much effort to find an equivalent but you're not doing the readers a favor by making them work that out in your place! I can forgive the title/and titular wife being left transliterated for the sake of recognition but for simple dialogue there's no excuse. The only other place it's acceptable is wordplay, but even then it's usually better to fully translate and leave an asterisk. Explain it in notes so as not to ruin narrative flow.
