Old Manga that I forgot about

So I was once read a shounen chapter from shonen compilation magazine it was about a girl with a talking staff which has face of an old man they travel the world looking for something. In one of the chapter I read the girl is invited to dinner, but the girl served with shit(literally) as well as all the invited but the invited and the host eat the shit and turns out they are bugs wearing human skins and asking the girl why she didn't eat the food(shit) and they proceed to eat the girl as well but they failed since the girl successfully defend herself. That's all I remember from the manga I once read the key is that the girl is travelling with staff that has old man face and he can talk as well so please help me find the manga title, thank you.

@ChefGourmand When you said "magazine", you meant an actual hard copy magazine? Was it in English or your country's language?

@Yatsuki Yes it's an actual hard copy when I was junior high it's from shonen magazine, you know compilation of various artist in one book if I'm not wrong. It's been more than a decade but I'm still remember a bit of the story cuz it's actually really good. But I reckon they already serialized it cuz the author continuing the story.
