Ok so like huge rant to nobody really I just wanna put my thoughts about this somewhere. Literally jusy typing as I think of stuff it might not even be cohetent but idrgaf.
Just feels like torture of the main character evolving into stockholm syndrome and I'm supposed to find it cute, idk. It's not cute, it makes me mad.
I like the concept of omegaverse but the way it's executed most of the time it's just romanticizing the romance between the genetic elite and what's basically a subrace of people that were unlucky enough to just be a biological sex object. It's always between an omega and an alpha with the omega hating being what he is and saying "no" and "stop" to literally everything, and the alpha not giving a fuck as long as the omega stays cute and "his". Because there's something about owninh people in omegaverse, reminds me of that thing called slavery or something i dont know. I just hate that power imbalance that just feels like emotional manipulation of the audience into thinking that it's normal in that world so we should be okay with it like. i'm not ok with it.
Why is the main character not trying to get home??? If hanging around alphas turns him into an omega why not just hang around omegas. Cause it seems like in that kind of universe just being an omega is an open invitation to being raped and demeaned and treated like trash. Idk if I lived in a world like that and had to deal with the life of an omega I'd kill myself or something. The mc was once a normal ass human and everyone around him are characters from his sister's manga, how does he form any connections at all??? He seems to accept his life a little too easily if frustrates me.
There's his love interest that's just obsessed with him and just won't leave him alone and the moment he does it's like "wait but no poor him he just wanted to hit" like idgaf???? There's this whole thing about alphas not being able to control themselves around omegas (which is why they werent even allowed to GO OUT before) but if it's literally in their fucking blood to be a rapist why should I cheer for any romance? You're gonna tell me well the omega can choose to be in a couple with whoever he wants but not even that cause first off what the hell is an omega supposed to do except be with an alpha? Nothing because society treats them like shit it's like women in the goddamn middle ages. Also an alpha can just claim any number of omegas??? Like if an omega is claimed sex with anyone but the person they were claimed by will be painful. Assuming their claim wasn't raped into them, considering humans are actually thinking conscious intelligent animals that make mistakes, what if you've got an ex? Like your alpha lover's turned out to be an asshole. But you mated now so it's not like you can find someone new. It's not even the dating market becoming less welcoming it's "be 13 have your first lover and wallow about your mistake until you die".
I'm not saying it's a bad setting. It's got a lot of social commentary and a lot of potential for storytelling. But put that psychological horror tag and don't call it a romance if it's between an alpha and an omega, because it's literally mind-numbing how obviously not in control they are. How they're being smushed together by nature and the reason they're even considering eachother for love interests is because of their statuses. Try throwing a beta in there. Maybe some homogender relationships like two omegas or two alphas. If it has to be between an omega and alpha don't make everything about instinct it feels like I'm watching two dogs in heat.
It's just something about fujos and omegaverse that reveals the true rapey culture around yaoi manga that I've only seen exceptions to rare times. It pisses me off or something idk I dont like this manga I dont like how the setting is used how every character is fucking STUPID how the main character's actions make no sense given his situation. How old are these characters even supposed to be cause in the real world he's a working mangaka with his sister but in the novel he's a student? ...i read that whole thing, and kinda agree at the end... Hope you find ur cup of tea. And ig that's the reason tasei isn't ready to be an omega, yk? I just read a recent chapter and jaspers mom threatening tasai sorta highlighted the dangers for omegas, i still like reading this but i get what u mean
