To over analyze for a minute
I really appreciate how the whole haggling scene for so many reasons
1 - The introduction of demons as some secondary force, rivals to the Dokkaebi's, creatures who also crave stories.
2 - How this works so well within the greater world so far built, as we are seeing how stories and plausibility are functionally currency in this multiverse, so of course it makes sense that there ought to be things beyond gods and Dokkaebis that want them
3 - How of course Demons must then hate Dokkaebis because they run the corporation that has a monopoly on the star stream
4 - How this then enables Dokja to not give up his actually decent fables, or his egg, because he can just hand over his fable of beating the shit out of a Dokkaebi

This scene could have come off as a total asspull. It has all the ingredients. And maybe to some readers it is.

But it works so well within the greater working that it just comes off as perfectly natural.

That takes work and a keen mind. Love to see it.

thanks for the chapter, peak fiction. i wonder...
honestly, as he absorbs fables, i wonder how the surgery goes and how it might influence his appearance, or if it normalizes after some time. another idea i have is that we get a display similar to bookmark's appearance with how it shows the merged fables with dokja's character...

edit: also can't wait for [be patient it's going to come soon enough] the proper reveal of the true appearance of dokja towards everyone

Another reason why Wenny man hates the Dokkaebis is because of the Korean Folktale where the wenny old man finds an abandoned house to spend the night, after having chopped wood in the mountains. He was a good singer, and his singing attracts dokkaebis, aka goblins, to the house. The dokkaebis want his singing skill, and they think it's in his wen. The dokkaebis take the wen, and give the man gold in exchange. Now another old man, who was not as kind hearted as the previous one, decides to be greedy and also want gold. He goes to the same house, telling the dokkaebis that come to give him gold in exchange for his wen. The dokkaebis are mad that the wen is useless to them, and punishes the second old man by giving him the previous man's wen.

That's why Wenny men hate the Dokkaebis.
