If you look at the moles on the girls face, they've disappeared.
Also notice that the tumour face is now on the top right of her face (it also has her old moles), whereas the tumour grew from the bottom left. So yeah, she got replaced by her tumour, and now she is the tumour that is slowly shrinking.

Kind of dumb, but is a fun "goosebumps" style plot.
