Is licking the stamps still a thing in others part of world?

Edit: some confusion with my comment here. I was asking is not that if people still use stamp. It is if you want to put stamp on a letter, do you think need to lick it?

i don't think sending physical mail to other people is a thing in most parts of the world. sending letters is mostly reserved to companies and government bodies nowadays.
Yes, some places still require legally binding documents to be in physical form, complete with real signatures in ink and plenty of duty stamps.
Maybe the other poster was referring to how postage stamps are mostly backed with sticker adhesive instead of water-activated glue these days - at least that is the case where I live. Peel-and-stick stamps wouldn't require wetting.
