At first glance, it's a four-panel comic that doesn't seem like much at all. However, when you read the last panel, doesn't seem like much at all still.

that's how the description should go. I know there is only so much that could be done with that amount of panels, but it's deadly boring and predictable.

I feel like the explanations kind of ruin the experience but without it, some of these would go over my head. I feel like that's the fault of the author though and he should try harder to make things more clear. Effective story telling should not need an explanation, especially for horror stories.

I think the real most important line in the description is "Mystery and horror that can be enjoyed by both children and adults". The structure reminds me a lot of those "spot the difference" games that you see on kid's menus at restaurants - you're supposed to "play the game" and try to figure it out on your own, but they give you the answers off to the side so that you can "check your score" after you're done "playing".

Some are obvious, some make no sense, some rely on puns in the Japanese language that are untranslatable and some are just adaptions of Japanese folk tales.
Hit&Miss, with most being miss.
The explanations also kinda feels like they think the writing is more clever than it actually is

Chapter 4 comment: It’s not methyl nor ethyl, but methanol or ethanol, when we talk about what we drink and the poison.
The methyl and ethyl are indeed similar to these two (they are methane and ethane but without the alchohol -OH group), but they are specific terms for when they are added as a group on a larger (organic)molecule.

(I‘m new to using this forum and unsure where to put this, but it really bothered me)

That may be it. Perhaps I should have been more forgiving then, knowing it caters to a wide audience.

So, some important information: this is most likely based on cryptic stories that circulate on the web in Japan. They're just short little stories where there's a little detail that's just a bit off. Things like seeing a murder from your apartment and not realizing the murderer is counting windows to find your apartment. Or editing a "ghost photo" with you and all your friends as a prank without realizing there shouldn't have been anyone around to take that photo.

They're not always outright horror or super shocking. I've seen some honestly pretty silly ones. The main thing is that they're just a little off.

Given this manga is only 4 panels, the answers can be way more in our face than when it's a full text post. That said, I also appreciate the explanation page on principle because I've seen some cryptic stories where even the translator isn't 100% sure what's going on.

If you want to read more cryptic stories, check out the "Saya in Underworld" blog. But if you're just looking for a plain old horror manga, just stop reading this one instead of complaining. Horror isn't the main point, these types of stories are like riddles.

I agree with this (sorry for shaving your post down a bit). This is a bunch of ideas that aren't very developed because of the ultra short format. I guess the mangaka had to deliver a lot of them in a short time to get paid enough to survive, so it's a given that some of them are throwaways. There are some with potential though, even if it's hard to notice in this form.
Chapter 6 is basically the plot of one of the most lauded crime novels ever written: "The Hollow Man" by John Dickson Carr. I describe it in the ch.6 forum.

I'm honestly surprised by the people who complain and still keep reading, admittedly it doesn't take much time but still?
Especially those who complain that there are Japanese puns that are hard to translate to English in a manga written in Japanese, for Japanese readers? I was going to write a bit about that but now I can't really be bothered.
This manga is not great, but not that bad if you take it for what it is. And don't bother reading the explanations, they're mostly superfluous. I skipped them except for a few Japanese puns I didn't get.
