I appreciate scanlating these ad chapters, altho they are really just ads. Although maybe it's a little more unilateral in its praise, it still excels in what I like in this series: expressing the joys of simple and attainable pleasures.

I love visiting fancy department stores, in Japan, Canada, and everywhere I go. Here only a couple of them have food in the basements, I was blown away by how huge and varied the food selection was. You can often get prepacked food at big discount if you go near closing, too. I got a chirashi bowl for 300y one time that had ikura and uni, insane.

Wonder if the author gets paid for these commissions, or if the magazine gets everything and he just gets paid for the usual chapter like normal

Maybe he gets some gift boxes out of it at the very minimum

Oh right, they did this in the Jusco/AEON where I lived. Every 20-30 mins the ladies would slap "discount" stickers onto the sushi and rice bowls. $44hkd sushi platter would go down to 40, 34, 30... like it was an auction

Knowing how the manga industry works the publisher probably gets paid, and whatever's left goes to the mangaka hah

Seconding that ad chapters aren't all that bad! The curly-talkin' wallet was funny and it's always pleasant to see Ootsuki chow down.

Gift certificates are an absolute menace tho, you only think that you get something for free but then you get lost in the sauce and end up overspending... What a diabolical invention
