Her mother is a single mom trying to support them, the MC doesn't make that much money herself, and her sister definitely isn't bringing in any green. Honestly the MC just needs to abandon her pride and let her mom get some help in this situation. Wtf.

if her mother look it as alimony, it could work. but alimony is usually happen between ex-spouses that no longer attached together (no lingering feelings etc). the problem to her is that by her mother taking the money, its make the mother dependant on her 'father'. her mother is still attached. she wants her to move on.
