I wanted to see him go out with a smile on his face but, I can accept that in his last moments, his pain was recognized by the one pirate of their era capable of rivaling him... gonna miss Rocks, he had a hell of a showing this flashback

on a separate note, I truly do Get what Garp is getting at but talking about wanting to protect the average marine while Dragon's on the same island holding a marine at gunpoint to make them rescue innocent civilians is really Something lmao

also also, I know "God of Fire Ace" is probs just Oda making a fun callback after the fact but it just makes me wonder if Roger had any named attacks with "Ann" in the name, since that's the name he wanted for his kid if they were a girl lol

As bizarre as it is, Coby does seem to build up as the next Garp. Luffy + Coby team up to defeat the final boss Imu does also feel poetic as they are one of the very first characters we've met.

Blackbeard would be ideal, but he's not Haki type.

Perhaps the Dark-Dark fruit would allow Teach to bind Imu and then Luffy and Koby deal the final blow. Teach would go out like Goku, sans the ability to be resurrected by Dragon Balls.

Perhaps the Dark-Dark fruit would allow Teach to bind Imu and then Luffy and Koby deal the final blow. Teach would go out like Goku, sans the ability to be resurrected by Dragon Balls.

Tbh I feel like Blackbeard will be just domi reversed by Imu just like his dad Xebec is.

But, I also wouldn't be surprised that Blackbeard has already prepared for it, either due to Yami Yami fruit or his supposed bizarre physiology being able to eat multiple fruits, but either way I can see Blackbeard taking control of Imu instead and become the real final boss. Unlike Xebec, Blackbeard lean more to scummier side so he probably will remains as antagonist.

I would also say Luffy is one of those that is just immune to Domi reversi, since his dream is to become the freest man in the world, so he should be free from Imu's control.

I just can't help but Laugh at Garp talking about good Marines. They are so few that they might as well not freaken exist.

Seriously, Oda really should have shown more of the Marines good side so this excuse for Garp staying didn't come across as so stupidly unbelievable that's it's hilarious.

Because all we've virtually seen is them being the absolute worse. Oh well, fuck it.

Anyway, it was a pretty good flashback. Veard pretty far off track since it was supposed to be about Harald's death. Guess there might be a bit more since we never really got much into Harald's death.

I think even Oda forgot that this was supposed to be about Loki and Harald. As glad as I am to finally know the full story of what happened at God Valley, this was a weird time to go into all the details.

Coby, Helmeppo, Smoker, Tashigi, Hina, Fujitora, Tsuru, Aokiji (ex), Bellmere (dead), and like the entire SWORD unit who rescued Coby from Blackbeard.

And nameless marines under command of Garp, Smoker, and Fujitora are good people from what we've seen.

In a previous chapter BB's Mom tells Xebec that it was "too early" for him to fight Imu, so there's probably a secret to the Davy blood; same goes for Luffy and Nika's fruit, Imu fears both so they probably can resist and/or reverse the reversi
