Metal Knight is either 'tech-smart, socially-braindead' to the point of actual stupidity, or he's got some other scheme going.

There were multiple times where Child Emperor pleaded for some scrap of sense for all of the shady shit he'd been doing, and if he'd just had this conversation earlier then this whole encounter could have been avoided. Considering his stated desire to avoid wasting time, surely he could have seen this inevitable clash coming, and would offer up some token excuses along the way to avoid it. Instead, when confronted he kept throwing blame at CE for not being responsible enough for his friends, when he couldn't even hold a conversation with his own pupil.

I think this is all a part of some plan of his to have CE 'break through', to have a younger genius get to greater heights earlier than he could. Or maybe he really just is that much of a moronic hypocrite.
I do think there's some truth to metal knight being dense, but I do also get his perspective here.

I think he recognizes hes not able to convice others that his ideas are good or right. He lacks confidence in his ability to convey his thoughts and feelings to others, including CE. He feels there's something important happening in the world and wants to do what he can to contribute. he feels its best if he focuses on what hes good at. He believes if he delivers good results, eventually people will see his actions as a good thing.

We can see he's not entirely wrong for two main reasons. He was able to create the AI alone by focusing on that over three years without cybernetics, something that he previously didn't think was possible. He broke through his own scientific limiter by following his own path.

Next, think about all the time CE spent working within the hero community; writing reports for the association they dont read, doing investigations into wrongdoings that see no justice, even going to neo heroes hes not really respected by the administration. All of that time and energy CE pours into the hero association goes nowhere. MK says something like "you need everyone to agree before taking action, but time is the most valuable resource" and we do see CE spend a lot of time consensus building and got very little out of it. MK sees a path to achieving success with his own power and relentlessly pursues it to realize his own version of what a hero is, and unfortunately that doesn't include dealing in CE (unless he cries).

yes MK is dense, socially inept and lacks confidence in his ability to convince others of things; but he seems to realize this and not want to spend time doing things hes not good at if he feels he doesnt need to in order to be successful in his ambitions.

You are just in extreme denial, that is all what this boils down to. Like I stated earlier, there's an absolute mountain of evidence and I only brought uo the tip of it, yet you just conveniantly ignores it because it doesn't fit with what you want to be true.

But what can one expect, only powerscalers, gooners and literal children read the manga nowadays. Not exactly the brightest bunch.

Like I already stated, ONE is also to blame for this for not being able to put his foot down on Murata when he goes haywire. His "final say" doesn't mean shit if Murata can just extend his storyboards tenfold and entirely change them like we have seen him do so many times.
He is writing because HE JUST IS OKAY

Unlike you he had actual evidence. Manga does a lot better

So, Kuseno is obviously evil. The question is, is Genos truly evil or can Genos be saved? tbh, even though Genos is misguided by false memories, I think he will be able to accept that he was tricked and won't carry on Kuseno's will.

ONE has a lot of respect for Murata, and so even though ONE is still credited as the writer for the manga, he pretty much rubber stamps whatever dumb changes Murata comes up with.

It was hard to convince anyone of this four+ years ago (was super obvious to me for ages) but nowadays people finally accept it as clear-cut reality.
You're in cope and denial that ONE isnt as good as you thought

The manga adaptation made me feel like this series lost its heart. I was wrong. The heart is in the webcomic. It seems like ONE is consciously writing for two different audiences with the webcomic and the manga. (That or whoever is writing or helping write the manga adaptation is not very good).
No the heart is in the manga. For most of its runtime its better than the WC.
