Nothing, just wrong place at the wrong time and sacrificed to show how little Wendy values anything other than her own (its own?) pleasure and desires. Wendy killed them because she/it could and doesn't value life which is used to contrast how Elis, through the things and people she's seen and being confronted with this thing, has reevaluated herself and grown.

Also you get to see them pulped so you get to enjoy some karmic retribution on a meta level.

It literally blames them, or "those sorts" specifically, for depriving it of its reason for existing. They left the auction grounds before the fight started and it went back while Elis was in hiding to heal. It might be a case of the wrong place at the wrong time for any other victims, but not those two.
Basically, you can compare it to someone going postal after losing their job. The replacements got killed, and anyone else that got in the crossfire doesn't matter.
