Thanks for the TL, as always! Its nice to have a breather chapter after tha back-to-back Ruha's and evaluation arc climaxes. Doesn't mean that nothing happens in this tho
Looks like MC is going to put off on using the sprays and try to actively keep his sense of self/masculinity now that the side effects have fully dawned on him. Which will probably lead into having to explain to his high school friend why Fem!MC resides in the same place as Male!MC in the form of Fem!MC
And I was hoping the side-effect would lead us to know more about Han Yoil's previous self.
Right now the side-effects only seems to affect MC's senses and sub-conscious reactions (as is the trope in this genre), maybe a potential plot lead later on.
I must say though, the writing is
way too well-written. The author is really good at avoiding common pitfalls in the genderbend genre. You'd think with a premise like this the writing's would be lousy and fall into tropey fan-service or power fantasy but nope! The story is very grounded (short of the genderbend itself) and even wrote the antagonistic (bitchA) Suryeon as a semi understandable character, I can see why she would reasonably crash out like that yeah.
Stuff like managing to make it so that the genderbend aspect/the fact that the MC is a guy actually matter and plays a major factor in the story. Look at the dozen of GB femMC power fantasy isekais where its only mentioned in the first 6 chapters or so before being forgotten in favour of the usual power fantasy adventuring shtick. just cause hack isekai writers just wanted their MC to be pretty to look at while still being relatable to (the majority) male readers.
I think a main part of this is because the whole manwha revolves around idols, an industry that is inextricably linked to feminity which allows for plenty of situations where the genderbend aspect of the MC comes in for great story beats.
There is also the common pitfall of just making the MC be essentially a tomboyish insecure beautiful girl, which the author also managed to avoid. Mainly by writing it be a Ranma-style trigger and also have side effects. The entirety of the (amazing) Lee Ruha arc is really good example of how the author avoided this.
Oh and don't even get me started with Lee Ruha, such a believably flawed character and well made character. I love her so fucking much.
