I feel a lot of ways about this.
The art is stunning. Absolutely gorgeous. And I'm very drawn to the theme of trauma and therapy and very invested in seeing Aoki overcome his issues.
But I'm a little scared of being disappointed in the end, as right now it feels like it could go either way - it might dive in-depth into
overcoming traumatic abuse,
or it might just gloss it all over and never get to the heart of it.
Also, as someone who experienced lesser but similar things as a child myself, the way his trauma has almost directly transformed into a BDSM kink for him is kinda... let's just say even though this is like 70% sex, I'm really not here for the sex scenes. The way they're sprinkled with (more like doused in) his flashbacks makes me super uncomfortable.
Edit: wow, didn't expect myself to be uploading the next chapter for this. Haven't even read chapter four yet, time to get to it!
This really needs a tag warning of sexual content. I was not expecting what happened and while I didn't especially mind, I dropped it and wouldn't have read it if it'd had the appropriate tag.
I like it, the story is interesting and so is the choice of characters BUT it just feels like rape some of the time and honestly the nurse seems like psycho a lot of the time, so I'm just here confused because are we supposed to ship them? Or supposed to hate him and then in the end aoki sensei will find actual love? I dunno man but I'll definitely
@PineNeedles You're not wrong, their earlier encounters definitely fall into the dubcon-noncon category. And while there is a chance that Aoki will find himself and get a new love, I think this manga will have Aoki and Tengoku will become a couple
I can't believe I can get emotional over yaoi manga. This manga seems to nsfw, bdsm type at first. But, the plot and character development makes this good enough..
For whoever is just starting this manga it may seem really rape like but trust me near the end it's really emotional and they find true love for each other!! lol
My friends, this has more depth and emotion than it may first seem. It has more character and story development and emotion than other mangas with disturbing themes and even those with completely safe and clean themes. Give this a chance, because it is worth the journey watching them grow and learn about themselves, without losing their own selves in the process.
This is a really nice story. Two very human characters, each dealing with their own issues and being able to find solace in each other.
I like how despite the theme of bdsm, there's no "rape". Aoki is consensual to the sex, and he treats tengoku normally outside their sex play. Even tengoku is really sadistic only whereas sexual play is involved.
It's refreshingly mature in its storytelling, and in the portrayal of two adult human beings dealing with past trauma. Aoki is not the typical submissive and weak uke, and tengoku is not your average Sadistic and manipulative Seme. 10/10, great story
The premise of early chapters are not so appealing as it is borderline rape (?), Aoki did reject and Tengoku basically blackmailing him so he can't refuse, so the consent is vague. But the middle to end chapters are quite good.
