The part about "simple possession" is indeed a reference to child porn. Specifically, simple possession of a compromising picture is enough to get you arrested in most countries. There are even stories of people who took pictures of themselves when they were young and foolish, and then got arrested once they turned 18. This is why it's especially important to teach children NOT to do that, because it's not like they'll remember to delete those pictures shortly before turning 18. You know I am someone who advocated for a trans interpretation for Mahiro years ago... mostly out of stubborn spite for people who didn't want that interpretation. But in retrospect I think I pushed that narrative a bit too hard. (it was years ago, I've mellowed out in general since then)

But I honestly don't know what pronouns to use for them either. And I kind of like that a lot? Mahiro defies gender to even the point you can't go by biology as a final word. (though they like being a girl WAY TOO MUCH for me to think they're still a guy internally, that much is for certain)

*Depending on how you define what constitutes a time skip. Technically each chapter is a time skip, but normally it's a variable [x time later] shtick in the middle of a chapter that is considered a time skip, which is what my joke was referring to.

In theory, Mahiro could get [Several Years Later'd] at any moment and end up happily still living as a woman. That said, it's hyper unlikely hence why I made the joke and this exorbitantly unnecessary explanation of it.
