His power is that when he dies, he restart from the last checkpoint, but keeps his stat, and now his equipment: this way, by repeating the same day times and times again, he increases his strength, while the bosses stay the same. Conversely, by rushing to kill the bosses the moment he is barely able to, he is just making the whole thing harder in the long run.
I guess he feels too personally invested (and likes his sanity - that first round of dying-a-lot must have taken a lot out of him). Plus it would be annoying to learn later on that a permanent debuff gets added after 100 deaths or something. (Or he gets a warning about "only 20 lives left") - But I guess it's mostly about not liking to die anymore so he grabs any first good win. (But now he did pick up a grinding quest for himself, so maybe this was all it took)

Yeah, I would be really concerned if it happened to me: in addition the "game" is incentivizing him to die as much as possible, giving him achievements for multiple deaths

i'm curious how he's gonna kill that kaijuu. So far MC only have super strength and doesn't have OP skill like shadow monarch.

I guess he's gonna relying on senpai's kamehameha skill again? Then again the crafter girl might play a role in it, maybe she'll craft a weapon with super poison or something to kill it.

I feel like the mc should abuse the fact that he can regress but the author doesnt want to for some reason
it just that the author is ur typical average gamer. not a pro one.... if it was me i would abuse the system by repeating the regressing from the first time and just leveling up my stat before i took all the skill so that the point required not gone up, and i wont kill any boss so that my checkpoint still at first checkpoint and the inversion progress would stay at zero after regressing. after certain point just let say lvl 500 with bunch of skill or the moment u no longer or having hard time levelling up even after completing bunch of quest from taking revenge to certain monster. then that is the moment that after regressing, i speedrun killing all those boss monster to reduce the inversion progress and save all those allies i need

You have a new mission: complete the game you were already forced to complete
You'll recieve the following rewards: more loot than you would already be getting anyway
Do you accept? Y/Y but in another color

This. But maybe the weaker enemies in a low inversion setting would stop giving him exp so he'd at least have kill some bosses every now and then. That and the bosses slowly converging on his position + the checkpoint changing to slightly after he kills a boss might mean he'd only have so much time after each boss (which would still leave plenty of time to grind more lvls, it's gotta be said)
