I think I already talked about this, but do eastern MMORPG work in a completely different way from the western ones? In all the western MMOs I have played, PK was a fairly regular thing, to the point that any guy who was bored or just happened to find an enemy player would do it. PKers weren't seen in a negative light, other than being called assholes occasionally if they went after low-leveled players, and most people agreed PKing was just part of the game.

Yet, whenever I see a manga about a VRMMO or a regular MMO, PKers are seen as this completely evil thing and they are always sadistic psychopaths who don't just PK ocasionally but rather focus solely on that. They are also always seen as evil villains and treated as if they were some sort of IRL murderous gang.

It feels really weird and makes me think the authors were butthurt because they got killed while playing an MMO, but maybe PKing is a completely evil thing in eastern MMOs and I just lack knowledge about it, so I hope someone can enlighten me on that matter.

obviously you've never run into a pker who spawn camps you. yes, the spawn point is a safe zone, but the area around it isn't. so you're stuck either repeated dieing or you sit at the spawn point till they leave or are driven off by other players. which is really fun.

also, in many western games you get drops from pking. did you notice? in this game you get exp from pking. which put a completely different spin on it.
