I appreciate the way the story reflects how it's always the men who are most incompetent in their own fields of study or work the ones who tend to resort to coping mechanisms such as misogyny or racism. Naturally, if you're an unskilled, lazy narcissist whose life will never amount to anything yet you still feel the need to see yourself as superior to others, all you can do is attempt to appropriate the achievements of better men and women who came before you and present them as reasons why the group of people you belong to is supposedly better than the rest. It's so blatantly simple-minded.
