The pacing is very confusing lately

It definitely feels like it was either given a deadline to finish, or the author wanted to move on to something else and wanted to end with a bang. Went from ~60 chapters of fluff with a lore chapter here and there, to 17 straight chapters of the stakes being raised higher and higher every chapter until this low magic story suddenly has the entire universe being rewritten.
