Well, AKCHUALLY AKCHUALLY Hoo-Hoo as a winged Divine Beast clearly has the ability Aerialize, which changes Hyper Beam into a Flying type move, which in turn is super effective because Dawi is CLEARLY a... (mutters Grass, Bug, er...) FIGHTING type.

Honestly, amazing work by the author, first few chapter of fluffy slice of life, latter arc after world building becoming dark fantasy. Now you care about the cute family core and really just want what's best for them

Unless I'm misreading this it looked like the blast hoo hoo hit davi with is the same as the one that just healed their wounds. Like it's just concentrated holy power or something. So if I had to guess, it didn't hurt davi at all and may have had the effect of purifying her and now maybe she'll stop trying to eat them.

If Davi were a grotesque male goblin instead, any discussion of her redemption would likely be dismissed with "Cool motive, still murder."

I could understand if her killings were purely defensive, retaliating against those who attacked her with murderous intent, but she pursued our protagonist with cannibalistic hunger, unprovoked, even while already holding a fresh meal.

Sure, we can empathize with the injustice she endured, but that doesn't erase the fact that she's a murderer and a cannibal.
