Another author who sets up a perfect lgbt allegory and then seems to completely side step around it in the next chapter
Annoying how that keeps happening, since its digital release who knows, maybe someone decided to tell the author to stop their character's direction. Mostly joking, its very conspiratorial, but it'd explain the weird switch between titles.
I just think it wasn't meant to be a LGBT allegory but rather on societal norms/labels and her needing to accept every part of herself even the feminine parts she's grown reluctant to it's why she says him telling her he likes even the girly parts of her made her feel some confidence it was okay to be herself

Her being a girl shouldn't force her into enjoying feminine things and her enjoying boyish things and even being more comfortable appearing as a boy doesn't mean she actually wants to be a man or should identify as one likely at most just sometimes wishes she was because it'd make things easier

I know i've already mentioned it a few times already but I really wouldn't be surprised if this was taking inspiration from Persona 4 feels very similar

And nothing wrong with any of this, just trying to make different points

I can't tell if it's about her accepting the girly parts of herself while still remaining true to herself, or "growing up" and "accepting herself" by learning how to conform and be more like a "normal" girl.
To answer your question: Yes.

Its about her coming to terms with her shortcomings and growing up to deal with them. I wouldn't go so far as learning to conform but more "There isn't just a bucket for Chunni outcasts and one for kawaii stepford Kansai wives; you can chart your own path". The path she's currently on isn't making her happy, its just her being spiteful, lashing out, and pushing people away because the boys pulled ahead of her physically, and the talk with yaboi got her to fully conceptualize that.

She isn't going to go full Gal, but she also doesn't need to cut off everything girly from her life just because its girly, and needs to find her new balance, as kids will do as they move on from highschool. And she doesn't have to do that alone.

I find it baffling that there exists a school that doesn't have a girls soccer team. As we learn growing up, differences in physiology from the sexes we are born with can affect our performance in various physical activities, hence why there are men and women divisions in most sports.

Obviously, there will never be women's division of select sports like football (American sport). There's no demand for it, the reputation it has for getting the most sports injuries that could turn lethal such as concussions can turn even most men away from it, and there's a very niche number of women who would want to play football aside from the annual powderpuff football past time in some high schools. It would also depend on the school you will go to that some opportunities in sports exist.

In Karasuma's case, the middle school she ended up going not having a girl's soccer team was a very bad draw of luck on her part (if she had no choice in where to go from the start). I can almost guarantee that if she did go to one that had a girl's soccer team, she would not have this complex about the body and sex she was born into and the gender norms of 'girls liking girly things' would not be as much of a problem, if not at all.

I think it's pretty clear this problem exists under these circumstances because of the author's choice in Karasuma's direction in character development. They made that a problem for this moment to exist. Otherwise, having such an issue under these circumstances would be very unlikely in reality.

The reason why I find tomboys attractive are

1. They almost always have the same interests as guys, which we find more relatable
2. The gap moe whenever they decide to be more feminine (like wearing more feminine clothing instead of just guy wear all the time)
3. Very direct about what they like and stuff

Tomboy supremacy ✊✊
