I don’t think they’re discouraging her exactly. It seems like all of the adults are in tight-nit friend group from grade school so they’re just concerned for Kina with the knowledge of Akito’s personality.
I mean, he’s done a little more than making breakfast once. But he also hasn’t been much of a focal point in the series, like Kina has been. It does look like he’s starting to do his share of the house/child care now though.
