The nature of paradigm and paradigm shift is such that existing sciences cannot be overcome exclusively via logic, reason, and experimentation. The reason being is simple; both paradigms define themselves as good science. There are no neutral criteria by which you can actually compare two sciences. Aristotelian astronomy defined the universe at this point and was (locally speaking) the best explanatory model. In order to actually overturn a prevailing theory, other factors must be taken into account. For some, that might be waiting until the old guard dies off, and the paradigm goes with them. For others, all that's needed is a strongly passionate argument.

Wah, I just realized they're using actual panels from previous chapters to make visuals for flashbacks. Lame.

This is troublesome, what about the search for perfection for truth? Is it just another passionate argument?

What about passing down the knowledge? Does it have anything to do with mutations of the same paradigm, or can it possibly be a seed of shift for the current paradigm?

Thank you for your thoughtful comment... Wait, I should have written this at the beginning... Whatever, loving your stuff <3

hi, sorry for the terminally late reply!
the nature of that slow mutation is what defines a paradigm shift, the complex social interchange is what causes one to be replaced by the next. Thomas Kuhn argues here that this isn't relativism, and that the new paradigm is always an improvement, which I personally find to be a little wonky even within his framework. However you're right on the money.
Ultimately, science is an emotional venture, as oxymoronic as it sounds.

Good science is love, good science is life 🧬

There's an anime on this airing on Netflix! I gotta check it out some time...

Anyways, I heard that our contemporary science has at least these two problems: too much competition mainly because of too little funding and competitive culture, and a cult-like sense of adherence to a theory or a scientist figure.

What was my point... Oh yeah, that this'll probably change as people are aware of these things and finding alternative ways of divulging and making knowledge, even if that creates new problems too. Amazing stuff.
