Good Orc and Elf Princess
that's obscure as hell. who reads normal fantasy books nowadaysIt reminds me of the Good Orc and Elf Princess.
Probably flashbacks in ch3?This damn author left out way too many details of that night.
We can only hope.Probably flashbacks in ch3?
Notice how I explicitly mentioned the use of an Upscaler, so thank you for confirming my theory. Not sure what yall are talking about here tbh.
No prob. I'm not surprised about any "upscaler" being used and I definitely did notice you mentioning it. I'm not disputing that at all. Though I have no definitive proof if they used an upscaler or just have access to better raws. Could be wrong either way but that was never my focus.Notice how I explicitly mentioned the use of an Upscaler, so thank you for confirming my theory.
It may very well be something I notice since I'm also an artist, but there's distinct smudging and sharpening in strange places that I find distracting on the upscaled version. It causes certain stylistic effects (as evidenced by the raw) to seem warped and/or "plasticy", if that makes any sense - at least in my case. It's a sort of uncanny aspect. No prob. I'm still confused on what sort of "fuckugly filter" (as the other guy put it) or whatever artifacting that mentioned causing the images to "looks like shit".
I haven't noticed anything in particular myself, but I'm usually not looking too closely for stuff like this. I do know that the upscaling aspect is to partially denoise the original raws to make redrawing a tad easier, but from my experience stuff like waifu2x don't seem to cause glaring issues unless you push the settings a tad too far.
I'm just curious about what you and the other guy spotted that looks that terrible.
I see. I definitely don't have an artist's eye for this sort of thing. I didn't notice anything too weird for this particular series and kinda just chalked it up to a mildly funky art style. It may very well be something I notice since I'm also an artist, but there's distinct smudging and sharpening in strange places that I find distracting on the upscaled version.
