The difference with Absorb is, Absorb’s main function is to easily and non-lethally acquire skills.
Hero probably have to follow the game rule where they need to kill the opponent to gain their skill.

Miyamoto hasn’t kill a lot of people with skill to proof that yet.

the secretary Is probably Ray, but it is not certain, can be an avatar or a transgender character, until its revealed for certain no genderizarion (besides, the JP is quite clear, when referingto Ray, no gender pronouns have been used).
