It's totally pointless as well. That disclaimer won't free Mangadex from responsibility, such as that responsibility ever might turn out to be. Mainly the responsibility is to obey the DMCA takedown requests. But the host is still responsible for the content they are hosting and has to do something to make sure they aren't hosting illegal content, mainly by removing it. Just like Youtube is doing, for example, through it's poorly working algorithms. It's impossible for the host to simply state they aren't responsible for what visitors might upload. Such claims didn't save Megaupload and others like it, for example, back in the day. They claimed they are just providing a platform and they have no idea what people might be uploading, it's the uploaders' responsibility. It didn't save them. Piratebay wasn't even hosting the files themselves, just torrents, but it still got into trouble.
The reason why hosts are given some leeway is that a total host responsibility would kill the Internet as we know it.
