I would reiterate my thoughts on this arc here, but i think it was already discussed properly and at length in the last chapter why this arc falls flat for so many people, so instead ill toich on a more relevant topic: the demon king.
The portrayal here feels kinda off for me because im not quite sure how the manga wants me to read her. On a surface level shes at best a major idiot and an asshole, but it feels like im meant to think that the real her is different. The way the start of the chapter is layed out, it looks like im supposed to think that shes actually kind and just putting on a facade for the sake of ezekiel(kinda like itachi in naruto). Am i crazy or does anyone else get that impression?

Nah, she's a Thanos, a total asshole that saw a problem and tried to fix it through violence and genocide. She tried, in her way, to raise a successor/ultimate weapon, but seen objectively, she created a child and then raised her through misery and pain to be the monster that could take down that dragon.

A lot of the action is kind of hard to follow, but kind of makes sense if you consider what logically should happen reading the rest of the panels.

I think she's supposed to read as well intended and that, but its hard to do so when her plans feel majorly stupid.

It’s crazy to compare this arc with the pacing of the first arc. Like actually crazy. So much is happening at once rn. It’s jarring.

They took so much time at the beginning of this manga to flesh out characters, relationships, powers, etc. and then it’s all just being glossed over now with the massive fights constantly happening?? Not to mention Ruby and him are now back???

Nah man. I really hope this isn’t going towards Ruby redemption, the little shit.

I kind of love how the cut-apart demons are just like "yeah Ruby turn us into a sick flesh golem!", just totally chill with being Frankensteined. I guess they can probably be split back apart pretty easily, so it's not a big deal, but still.
